Touring Amsterdam by Boat

You can buy an excursion on a tour boat in Amsterdam and explore the city via the canals. Prices start at between 6.5 and 9 euros for a 1 hour excursion, and go up for longer trips with and without dinners. Personally I don't think I could bear more than 60 minutes in one of these boats. You really can see much more just by walking around. But, when the weather is freezing and the wind feels like it is blowing off of the glacier, it is a rather more comfortable (thermally speaking) way to get around the city.

Most of the boat tour operators are headquartered near the downtown train station. (as seen in the background)

We were the first on board, so I took advantage of the opportunity to photograph Amsterdam's most beautiful woman on 'the bridge'.

The boats seem too long to navigate the bends in the canals, but they do it. There are 18 rows of seats that each can hold 4 to 6 people at say 9 euro per person. It works out to about 640 euro per hour minimum during the high season.
