Schiphol Train Station
Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam

As soon as we had arrived at Schiphol airport, we walked downstairs to Schiphol train station where there is train that goes to Amsterdam every 20 minutes.

Schiphol is an international european hub and the station is very busy.

We arrived just in time to miss the train, and so we stood around waiting for the next one with the other late-arriving passengers.

On the level under the platforms, there are ticket counters, but you can also buy tickets both for train and local mass transit at these automated machines. And upstairs, near platform 1, there is this ticket office for international travel, where you can wait in relative comfort.

There are escalators running up and down to and from the platforms. This chap was one of several people we saw who were commuting with fold-up bicycles.
