Vancouver, BC Canada
This are a series of snapshots we made during our trip to Vancouver in February of 2004.

Here is Vivian arriving in Vancouver.

This the Ramada, where we stayed one night.
The Empress is one of the original Grand Hotels built by the Candaian Railway during the golden age of rail travel. This is where we did not stay at any night.

The dining room at the Empress. (one of them)
Here is one of the function rooms. Handy, should you want to host a little informal get-together, eh?
This is the second floor lobby of the Empress. Yes, the lobby spans two floors.
This has got to be one of the nicest hotel lobbies that I have ever had the pleasure of photographing.
If the weather is cold and rainy, (always the case in February), you can shop inside the Empress.
I think this glassed0in structures adjoining the Empress must be used for conferences.
Off to the side of the Empress, is glass-enclosed area which must be just wonderful during the summer months. Even in February it wasn't too bad.
In the background is the Parlament building.
Inside Parlament.
The front hall of the Parlament building, first floor.

This is the front hall on the second floor of the parament building.

This is the harbor in front of the Empress Hotel.
A local foreign exchange. An employee
came out and compained bitterly that
I was taking a photo without permission. I explained that I was a
tourist, and that tourists have not
only a right to take photos, but a responsibility. I
suggested that if
she would be willing to take her clothes off, some
tourist might one day take a photo of her, after all
Grisly Bear in an Exchange agency is pretty rare.

Here is the Robson area of Vancouver. It is supposed to be the place to shop.
Vancouver has mass transit system called 'SkyTrain'.
